Paul Leibow born in NYC 61, classically trained, holds a BFA from SVA 1983, soon after studied with designer, Milton Glaser and then the Summer Works program in Woodstock NY. Leibow became a fine artist showing nationally, with works selected for books by Elisabeth Sussman curator Whitney museum. Leibowʼs art film entitled “For a limited time” was catalogued in the Program for Art on Film at: The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Leibow also created several works for recording artist Bruce Springsteen and helped brand his world tour working on books, album covers, concert apparel and paintings for his tour-book. His work was in the ACNNJ NJ -National Juried exhibition curator: Thyrza Nichols Goodeve, Whitney Museum. Also NJ national juried show, awarded top prize by: Juror-Cynthia Goodman curator Whitney Museum. Many of Leibowʼs exhibitions warranted several reviews from either the NY Times or national art magazines and art publications. Leibowʼs art film “Black Babylonian Beads” 9 min short – 2016 first premier was in MoRUS Museum NYC, event “speaking truth to power” his Art Film was selected by four film festivals, GBFF GreenBay, NNFF Near Nazareth, SCFF Studio City LA and Fanboy FF. He recently was one of (4) artists selected to study at the tamarind Institute in NM under master printers and print major creating new editions and his work there will be archived in the Tamarind Institute. A new show at Edward Williams Gallery FDU in March 2019 will be a collaboration with photographer James Leynse.
