The price would be relative to the level of functionality depending on how collaborative you wish the design process to be and what you require the site to do.

Whatever price is negotiated the level of design will never suffer, only the amount of pages or functionality of the site. Most of the major components of the price are in art direction and programming. The amount of time, and consequently cost, spent in these areas will depend on the programming language and applications within the final site.
